I was so satisfied when that hebi punched his underling fox I want thorfinn to fight back so badly in that scene but it looks like he's ready to die he's literally dead inside and outside he's not even blinking everytime that guy keeps giving him some slice cuts

Its been a couple of years by now,

I can remember his body dodging a lethal blow, and his old expression coming back on his face, while commenting that was close or something like that, but it only last about an instant.
Only for him to become angry, because he thought he wanted to die.

i can see in this Snake guy a lot of Askelad type of person

Nah, Askeladd was and still is, kinda unique in that series, a really strong guy, who actually didnt want to fight, as such, but did it anyway just to make a living......well maybe they are a bit alike =)

That punch was so satisfying also Thorfinn should've killed him that instant but I guess he doesn't care about anything anymore and it's really sad seeing him in this state.

It doesn't matter how big or small it is, all that matters is how much time you can last xD.

he lost the war the moment he learned there is a person not fearing death while his warrior spirit still feared death. he was jealous of Thorfin's fearlessness and indifferentnes.

Nah, he still thinks thorfinn is just playing tough but thorfinn literally wants to die but no one will kill him because he doesnt care enough to resist and hes worth more alive. Dude was annoyed because he wasnt getting the reaction he wanted. It wasnt something as petty as jealousy but more just annoyance with a broken toy.

no, he got frustrated because he knew a guy like Thorfin exists, his whole warrior spirit existence is/was based on excuses about ''fearing death'' and how thats normal.
but no, true warriors does not fear death, they accept it. So as a person thats not a true warrior to get into measuring guts with Thorfin it was obvious that he'll get frustrated.
Its like he met the total opposite of his beliefs.
U need to see the deeper philosophy there. U think the author wrote these scenes/scripts in one night without giving a deeper thought into it?

the guard never saw the slaves as ''toys'', he knows their worth and that they are a reckoned work force.
The 'toys' idea was sold to the young master so he can kill a person, he saw opportunity and wanted to manipulate him as he was even jealous of his father so he even tried to badmouth the Lord of the land.
